永香冰室開業於1959年，在土瓜灣經營超過半世紀，店中裝修基本沒大改變，粉綠瓷磚，幾何三色小地磚，還有一面鏡牆，若是執拾一下，根本就是現在流行的懷舊裝修。
除了裝修，冰室食物價錢也一樣凝固了，馳名窩蛋多士$10，一杯飲品也是$10，和外面幾乎是$20的一杯奶茶，價錢平一半。據街坊食客所云，店子奶茶咖啡均勉勉強強，人客光顧，一是老街坊，喜歡和老闆娘打牙骹，另外則是貪戀冰室那種進入時光隧道般的懷舊風情。
由於店子老舊，很多電視劇電影均曾在此取景，最近重播的《大時代》，丁蟹就是在此糾纏玲姐。想不到二十多年後，永香冰室仍在土瓜灣沒消失，真是香港這個愛患失憶的城市的異數。
